Roughly 1700 people attended the three day conference in London that was sponsored by a number of pro-abortion groups such as International Planned Parenthood Federation and Marie Stopes International, along with such UN agencies as UNICEF, the UN Population Fund, and the World Health Organization. Status of the Human Embryo
As a group we are deeply concerned at the High Court's recent ruling on the status of the human embryo. Their decision ignores the scientific reality that an embryo is a living human individual at the earliest stage of existence. In this regard we have written a letter to the media expressing our concern at the ruling. The Linacre Centre in the UK have written an excellent critique of Justice McGovern's ruling and clearly explain the flaw in this unjust lega decision.

Preliminary Response of the Irish Catholic Bishops' Conference
to the Report of the Commission on Assisted Human Reproduction
A human embryo is an individual human being. Every human person began life as an embryo, and that life continues uninterrupted until death. Human rights derive from the nature of the human person, and respect for the human person implies respect for these rights. Human rights are, at the same time, constitutive elements of civil society and its order. The uncontrolled application of techniques of assisted human reproduction, as well as undermining the fundamental rights of the individual, risks causing unforeseeable and damaging consequences for civil society.

Stem cell research--specifically EMBRYONIC stem cell research is getting a lot of attention in the news and political circles. The links below connect you to some resources you may view and hopefully pass along to others. The Stem Cell Research Facts link is a 6-minute video produced for the family Research Council and is a good primer on the issue. "Little Sarah" and "Sarah's Mom" are 30-second TV commercials running in Missouri (and elsewhere). If you have a broadband internet connection (DSL or cable) you should be able to click the link to play the videos. Please pass them along to your friends who share your belief in the sanctity and dignity of life at all stages.

MORAL REFLECTIONS ON VACCINES PREPARED FROM CELLS DERIVED FROM ABORTED HUMAN FOETUSES
The matter in question regards the lawfulness of production, distribution and use of certain vaccines whose production is connected with acts of procured abortion. It concerns vaccines containing live viruses which have been prepared from human cell lines of foetal origin, using tissues from aborted human foetuses as a source of such cells. The best known, and perhaps the most important due to its vast distribution and its use on an almost universal level, is the vaccine against Rubella (German measles).
